CHAPTER EIGHT <33

1. How does what the doctor first says, on page 119, foreshadow Johnny's condition?
When the doctor told the nurse to let then in cause " it couldn't hurt now" foreshadowed that Johnny was very very sick and was maybe dying and then seeing Johnny wouldn't affect Johnnys health because he was already sick.
2. "We needed Johnny as much as he needed the gang. And for the same reason" (p.121). What do you think Pony means, and what is the reason?
Ponyboy means that Johnny is family to them, they are Johnnys family and without him it wouldn't be the same. Like a big part of you missing that would never be replaced, and couldn't ever.
3. What does Pony mean on p. 123 when he says, "we could get along without anyone but Johnny"?
Pony means that no one in the group could get along better with anyone else but Johnny, he was sweet, kind, innocent and caring after all he was the pet. He was kind of like the centerpiece of the family, he was what held the gang together.. kind of.
4. If Darry didn't have Soda and Pony, why would he be a soc?
If Darry didn't have Soda and Pony he would be a Socs because he has the looks, the smarts, and hes very athletic and the only thing that was keeping him from becoming a Soc was his brothers and the gang.
5. What does Cherry mean when she says Bob "wasn't just anyone" on p.129?
She meant that he wasn't just the guy who "liked" to jump the greasers and was a bad guy. He also had a good side, a loving one. He had something special about him that made people follow him and he was someone special to Cherry. Not just anyone to her, Cherry might of even loved him.
